Our response to the Coronavirus (Covid 19).

In brief:

We’re still trading but some orders may be subject to longer dispatch times that normal, due to reduced staffing capacity and reduced service from Royal Mail.

Confusing and difficult times for everyone

Following the escalation of measures by the government to try and halt the spread of Covid-19, we want to assure our customers that whilst we’re implemented new government guidelines on social distancing, we are still operational and taking orders.

 

Online retail is still open and encouraged and postal and delivery service will run as normal.

We’re still trading online

As of the 20th March guidance internet retail is actively encouraged (and mentioned by Matt Hancock). We have suffered from the loss of most of our wholesale route-to-market and cancelation of workshops and factory visits.

 

Steps we’re taking

Obviously that means we’re going into work as it’s difficult to make chocolates remotely! We are a family business (husband and wife team) so isolation is possible whether at work or at home. Due to the business impact, our staff are furloughed currently but have previously adhered, and we will adhere, to social distancing upon their return.

We have put in place enhanced cleaning regimes onsite, strict hygiene checks with regular hand washing and sanitisation (above our normal routines as a food business!). We’re monitoring the situation continuously and will rigorously, take whatever steps are necessary to be in line with government and WHO guidance.

 

What this means for our customers

  • We’re still trading online. However, some orders are subject to longer dispatch times than normal due to reduced staffing capacity (from isolation, rather than due to infection). If you have ordered already, your order will be processed as quickly as we are able.
  • We are unable to accept walk-in custom (ie: customers coming to the factory directly). If customers turn up, they will be turned away.
  • We’re operating in a reduced capacity – though we are doing all we can dispatch times may be slower than normal.
  • All workshops and factory visits are canceled until further notice. If you haven’t already, you will be contacted regarding reschedule / credit options if you already have a workshop place booked.
  • We are still accepting wholesale orders. Please update any temporary delivery address and contact information if relevant. Whilst this crisis continues, we, unfortunately, cannot accept collection requests. If you are an (exempt from the ban) food-related retailer / small family business like us and unable to get artisan gift chocolates from your usual supplier – give us a call!
